FREE IN FAITH
Across East Africa many people are pushed out of their faith communities just because of who they are. Some are kicked out of their homes. Others are forced into hiding or worse, into silence and despair.
Religious leaders hold a lot of influence in our society. But instead of offering love and support, many pulpits preach exclusion. Queer youth are called sinners. Sermons shame those who are different. Mosques and churches shut their doors.
This kind of rejection hurts. It causes deep emotional pain, mental health struggles, and isolation.
We work with religious leaders to open doors, not close them. We create safe spaces where everyone no matter their identity can worship with dignity, love, and hope.
Faith should never be used as a tool to harm. It should heal, love and care.
Inclusion of Marginalized Groups in Religious Spaces.
We confront silence and exclusion that many marginalised individuals face within religious institutions. we work with affirming faith leaders and faith-based organisations to create spaces where queer-identifying persons participate in spiritual life without fear.
Theological Reinterpretation for Justice and Peace.
We partner with faith leaders to interpret religious texts, create accessible art-based guides, and host interfaith study groups for open discussions on gender, sexuality, and fairness.
Interfaith Dialogue.
We host open forums that bring Christians, Muslims, and traditional leaders together to talk, listen, and build respect across different beliefs.
Advocacy with spiritual Foundation.
We empower faith leaders to speak out for fairness, love, and human rights using their spiritual influence to challenge injustice.
Why Now?
Faith should never be used as a tool to harm. It should heal, love and care.
